Overview

The Accounting Specialist ensures the timely and accurate payment of miscellaneous accounts, bank reconciliation’s, monthly accounts analysis, and assists in the month-end and year-end closings, in accordance with company policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities

  • Process miscellaneous accounts payable, such as miscellaneous supplies, expense reports, etc.
  • Prepare the daily backlog report.
  • Process daily cash disbursements.
  • Process checks weekly and uploads detail to bank website.
  • Audit Field Sales Force expense reports ensuring adherence to accounting procedures.
  • Prepare account coding of monthly credit card bill.
  • Process reimbursement of Field Sales Force expenses via electronic transfer with bank.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare sales tax returns and 1099 misc. at year end.
  • Perform monthly accounts analysis, identifying and reporting any unusual financial performance items.
  • Enter fixed assets into the computerized system.
  • Assist in the processing and completion of the month-end and year-end closings.
  • Maintain the job order files, and daily cash and invoice files.
  • Ensure the accurate accounting for and handling of petty cash.
  • Perform back-up activities of Accounting Specialist and Order Entry.

Qualifications

Requires an associate degree and one to three years of related experience; or four years of high school and four to six years of progressively responsible related experience; or a combination of education and experience.
